The Department of History & Culture was established in 1985 with the renowned historian Prof. Pratima Asthana as its founder Professor & Head as a high class research oriented Department with modern infrastructure and library. At the outset only Ph.D. and M.Phil. Programs were run but later M.A. (History) and a job-oriented course PG Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management were opened. This Diploma course has later flowered into a full-fledged institute in the University. Now M.A. History, P.G Diploma Archieval Studies & P.hd Course Run Fruitfully in the department under Prof. B.D Shukla Supervision.
The foundation of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University (originally known as Agra University) was laid on the 1st of July, 1927, situated in city of Taj Agra.
